Permitted use

You may use the tools for lawful purposes. You must have the right to process the files you add — for example, because you own them or have permission from the owner. Do not use the service to infringe copyright, break confidentiality, or commit an offence.

Do not try to disrupt the website or use it in a way that harms other people or our ability to keep the service available.

Your files

You keep ownership of your documents. Using PDFStyler does not transfer any rights in those files to us.

Keep your original files. Check every downloaded result before you rely on it, share it, or delete the original. We do not keep a server copy of your files or of the result.

Compatibility and quality

The tools accept the file types and sizes shown on each page. Password-protected, damaged, or unsupported files may be rejected. Merge PDFs accepts PDF files of up to 50 MB, up to 20 at a time. Images to PDF accepts JPG and PNG files of up to 20 MB, up to 30 at a time. Compress PDF accepts one PDF of up to 50 MB. HEIC photos are not supported.

Merge copies pages from the PDFs you add into one new file. Images to PDF places each image on an A4 page, fitted to keep its proportions. Results can still vary with unusual files, fonts, or colour profiles.

Compress PDF redraws each page as a JPEG image and builds a new PDF from those images. A compressed file can lose visual quality. It does not keep selectable text, hyperlinks, form fields, annotations, bookmarks, or other interactive features from the original. Some files barely shrink, or do not shrink at all, especially if they are already small or well-optimised.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or withdraw the website or a tool at any time, including for maintenance or to fix problems. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that a particular file will process successfully.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed.

Warranty and liability

PDFStyler is provided free of charge. We do not warrant that the tools will meet a particular purpose, that every file will process, or that a compressed file will be smaller or suitable for printing, archiving, or legal use.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where they apply.

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot legally be excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to that, we are not responsible for loss arising from files you choose to process, from relying on a downloaded file without checking it, or from the website being unavailable. Because processing happens on your device, you remain responsible for the files you open in your browser.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also have the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live.

The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in your local courts where applicable law requires that.
